Fur in the City

Hard to believe there are only a 3 days left in the first month of 2015. So far winter has been pretty mild around these parts, especially compared to last year, and I am certainly not complaining – spring cannot get here soon enough. Juno was quite the tease earlier this week and barely left a dusting on the city streets despite all the predications of her record-breaking potential. Alas, the snow day I was hoping for never happened…but you better believe first thing Wednesday morning I was checking the Farmers Almanac for the next predicted snow. I’m counting on you February….RW.FurVest.01.2015a

RW.FurVest.01.2015fijpgOutfit Details| Vest (Chichwish, on sale!), Shirt (HM, similar – great tunics on sale at Old Navy), Pants (similar), Booties (Nine West, similar)

Vests are such practical pieces in any wardrobe – they add interest, warmth and often help complete a look. I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect faux fur vest since this fall and finally stumbled upon this one. I can’t wait to style it with dresses, pair it with a simple tee and jeans and throw it over a spring jacket for a little extra warmth. It pairs perfectly under a coat and doesn’t feel bulky but certainly keeps the warmth in. I’m hoping as the seasons start to transition a great black faux fur vest will go on sale!

Tunics are a great option to pair with vests. Not only are they extremely comfortable – they can be mixed and matched with many pieces in your wardrobe. Pair them with jeans and Chucks for a day of errands. Pair them with tights, a belt, and sweet ankle booties and you’ve got the perfect business causal look for a day the office. You can’t go wrong with a great tunic and who doesn’t love a great sale? So will you be styling with tunics this spring?

Two days until the weekend! Make it a good one friends…

    1. Thank you Kelley! It’s such a warm vest and your comment was so sweet! So nice to virtually meet another philly blogger 🙂 – will definitely check out your blog! Have a wonderful weekend!

  1. Do you mind sharing what size you ordered? I want to order the vest but wondering if they run true to size, or run big/small.

    1. Hi Brianna – thanks for stopping over and reading along! I ordered a small – perfect size for wearing the vest open and layered. If you would plan to wear the vest over chunky knit sweaters for example I might size up. Other than that I think it runs pretty true to size. Hope this helps – enjoy the vest! It’s so soft and warm. Any other questions – let me know!
