I’ve found that there can be times when less is more. Monochromatic outfits set against vibrant backdrops {see beautiful fall foliage} epitomize the beauty and simplicity of the simple things. They are understated, timeless, and polished. This outfit speaks to all those things by letting the surroundings do the talking.

Featuring some of my favorite pieces – black booties, lace details, long sweater vest, and faux leather – this outfit is understated against the vibrancy of the fall leaves. The gold chain bracket and leaf necklace prominently give a simple nod to the beauty displayed behind.

The comfort of this outfit was perfect for a evening of hosting a dear friends small gathering before heading into the city to celebrate her final month as a single lady. It was the perfect evening featuring laughter, reuniting with a old friend, a delicious vegetarian meal at Mixto, and a night of dancing. The countdown to her “I do’s” is on and I couldn’t be more excited to celebrate…

In the midst of preparing for the pre-party, J and I took a moment to enjoy the simple beauty as we picked up some final items. Mother Nature sure knows how to put on a beautiful show – its almost as if she is making a promise; whispering her spring time return as old man winter makes his arrival. An arrival I know my friend is hoping for as the backdrop for her big day….
