Style|Winter Blues

While this post may not be dedicated to Old Glory – I’m saving that for July – it was Presidents Day on Monday, so this style post might as well serve as the winter version of a patriotic post. And if we are being patriotic, I’m hoping it will help usher in spring because I am ready spring temperatures, warm afternoons outdoors, cherry blossoms, spring running, and green grass.

Despite the cold temperatures, we were determined to spend some time outdoors this weekend. During our brief trip outside, we stopped by the Betsy Ross House with a promise to return when the temperatures are more than below freezing. Because the chilly winter temperatures have decided to stick around, so has layering. Hence the reason for the sweater layered on the chambray oxford layered on the anchor blouse. I love the way the blues in the sweater, oxford, and blouse complimented and played off each other. I could see pairing these tops with skirts and shorts this spring/summer. These Banana Republic Sloan pants are on constant rotation in both my weekend and weekday wardrobes. They are comfortable and can easily be dressed up or down. Currently, I’m keeping waiting for the next BR sale because these are next on my purchase list – the side zipper is perfect for work, weekends & everything in between.

And while I love a great blue combination, the winter blues have long over stayed their welcome. Im ready for old man winter to raise his anchor and sail away. Anchors away winter, anchors away…
